After 6 months, we finally met our bishop for the very first time! He was as shocked as we were. Yesterday at church, we went to sacrament meeting and after, the bishop decided to go out into the lobby area and shake the hands of all the members as they go to class. He looked at me and Mark and asked, "Are you two new in the ward?" and I said, "No, we have been here for about 6 months now." He looked at me so blankly. And we were on our way. He didn't get our names.....
Ya know, we have had our home teachers come once, (well, one home teacher and his wife) during our 6 months of marriage. I have listed myself as a visiting teacher more than once, because I would like to know the people in the ward, and I still have no calling. I feel like I am living amongst dead people. I wonder how it will be in a year.

Enjoy it while they don't know who you are. Once they do...dundundun...it's all down hill from there.
oh i totally know what you mean. we've been in our ward six months also, and my husband just barely got a calling this week. about a month ago we were actually thinking of switching to a student ward, and then i got called to be in the primary presidency. haha. ironic. but its really fun:)i wish you the best of luck.
Is it a ward with lots of young people? I noticed in those wards where lots of young people were moving in and out it was hard to get callings and know people. I don't know though, Ryan and I each have two calling and people know us PRETTY well. There's always pros and cons to the small ward/big ward. I think, everyone in our ward has two or more callings to tell you the truth. Small..small...
My point was enjoy it while it lasts!!! hehe
This is happening to us!!! We even tried set up a meeting with the bishop and we didn't get a call back! The other day some lady asked us if we were visiting...the ward is all 35-50 year olds it seems. We know how you feel, but we are enjoying it!!
